Eventing at Lackham 2008

British EventingWiltshire College Lackham’s annual British Eventing (BE) Event will be held at the picturesque Lackham estate on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 May 2008.

Eventing is the ultimate test of horse and rider – comprising three disciplines. Dressage, Cross Country and Showjumping, the scores from each test combine to produce an overall total.

It is a sport at which Britain excels at all levels and is also one of the few sports where men and women compete on equal terms and the genuine amateur can contend against World or Olympic Champions.

2008 Event Details:

The course runs mainly over flat, well-drained parkland with excellent viewing. There are two courses for Intro and Pre-Novice made up of permanent and portable fences, with some shared fences, which include steps, ditch and a water complex. The course is suitable for both first time riders and young horses.

The dressage will take place on flat parkland and the showjumping will be in an arena located at the centre of the event. For the Intro and Pre-Novice competitions there will be prize money and prizes in kind.

Stabling is available at £20 per night including straw bed and shavings are extra. Please see contacts below for more information.

Admission is free for spectators and refreshments will be available. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
